WHAT DINA THINKS: UNESCO Backs Emirati Call for Global Days Celebrating Programming and Digital Learning

Hi expats! Big news on the global stage – UNESCO just gave a nod to a cool proposal from the UAE. Now, every October 29th is the International Day of Programming, and March 19th is officially the International Day for Digital Education.

I think it’s pretty awesome.

“Dina, why October 29th?” Well, that’s the day Dubai Internet City was launched, marking a game-changer for the UAE’s tech scene. Now, programming takes center stage in global economic development. This day is all about celebrating the magic of coding that keeps our world buzzing with innovation.

And let’s not forget March 19th – the International Day for Digital Education. In a world where learning is going digital, the UAE is stepping up. This day is all about recognizing the power of education in scientific progress and making sure everyone, everywhere, gets a shot at quality learning.

As you may know by now, the UAE is on a mission to be a hub for the best tools and practices, and these international days show they mean business. By pushing for programming and digital education, the UAE is taking the lead in using tech for the greater good.

Actually, it’s not just about the UAE. These new global days give countries everywhere a chance to join in, recognizing how awesome programming and digital education can be. As we cheer on these milestones, keep in mind that teamwork and new ideas are what will light up our future with technology.

The International Day of Programming and the International Day for Digital Education are more than just dates or holidays – they’re reminders for UAE residents that our country is building a brighter, tech-savvy tomorrow for everyone
