WHAT DINA THINKS: UAE Foreign Policy 2024

 Hi Expats!

Today, let's delve into the latest developments in the UAE, with a special focus on Gaza, Palestine, and the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.

There are a lot of developments going on in the UAE at the moment, but I want to discuss two important things that I thought you should also know: Gaza and CEPA.

As we all know, the UAE has been actively calling for de-escalation and a ceasefire in Gaza. The proposed solution centers around a two-state paradigm, emphasizing the urgency of avoiding procrastination and not relying solely on power dynamics. Simultaneously, there's a strong call for regional and international efforts to mitigate conflicts and promote stability, encompassing countries such as Sudan, Syria, Yemen, and others.

On the other hand, Thani Al Zeyoudi, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade, projects a remarkable boost for the UAE. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement program is expected to elevate the UAE’s exports by 33% and contribute over Dh153 billion ($41.7 billion) to the national gross domestic product by 2031. Already showing its impact, this initiative aligns with the UAE's commitment to fostering economic partnerships.

As we navigate 2024, the UAE's focus on Gaza, Palestine, and the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement reflects a strategic approach to both diplomatic and economic fronts.
