WHAT DINA THINKS: UAE's Continuous Humanitarian Efforts for Ukraine

In a poignant display of solidarity and commitment to aiding Ukraine in its time of crisis, the UAE Embassy in Poland welcomed a significant shipment today – a vessel carrying 27 fully equipped ambulances destined to bolster the health sector in Ukraine. This endeavor, in alignment with the directives of the wise leadership, marks a continuation of the UAE's unwavering support, with a previous shipment of 23 ambulances arriving last September. The cumulative impact is striking, as a total of 50 ambulances have been dispatched to Ukraine by the UAE in the year 2023.The UAE Embassy in Poland has been instrumental in facilitating the seamless transfer of aid from Poland to the Ukrainian port, working closely with the UAE Embassy in Ukraine. Majed Bin Kamal, Head of Humanitarian Aid and Support at the International Affairs Office at the Presidential Court, emphasized the ongoing commitment, revealing that additional shipments, including winter aid, are slated for delivery in the current month. These efforts are being conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, underscoring a coordinated approach to addressing the urgent needs of the Ukrainian people.Since the onset of the crisis, the UAE has been at the forefront of providing relief to those affected in Ukraine, demonstrating a profound commitment to the well-being of Ukrainian civilians. An impressive air bridge initiative was launched, deploying 12 planes laden with 714 tonnes of relief supplies. These included essential items such as basic foodstuffs, medical materials, 2,520 generators, 33 ambulances, 2,500 laptops, and 10,000 school bags. The UAE's commitment extended beyond air transport, as a ship carrying 250 tonnes of relief supplies, including blankets, personal items, and lamps, embarked on a journey to Poland and Romania. From there, these critical supplies were transported into Ukrainian territory, reinforcing the nation's dedication to reaching those in need.In a gesture of regional solidarity, the UAE also operated planes carrying relief supplies for Ukrainian refugees in neighboring countries such as Poland, Moldova, and Bulgaria. This comprehensive approach underscores the UAE's commitment to providing not just immediate aid but also sustained support to alleviate the challenges faced by Ukraine and its people. As the UAE continues to channel resources, financial aid, and essential supplies to the crisis-stricken region, it stands as a beacon of hope and solidarity, epitomizing the true spirit of humanitarianism on the global stage.
