WHAT DINA THINKS: UAE and NASA's Lunar Gateway

Hey there expats and space enthusiasts! Dina here with some exciting news coming your way – the UAE and NASA have teamed up for a collaboration that's (literally) out of this world!

The announcement was revealed at the stunning Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, with none other than the cool crowd – UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The announcement is no big deal... it's just that the UAE is bringing its A-game to the table by co-creating the Crew and Science Airlock module on NASA's Lunar Gateway Station. Yup, you READ it right – they're joining the big league of global space exploration and tech!

Aside from that, the UAE is not just stopping at the Lunar Gateway Station. They're also gearing up to send their first-ever Emirati astronaut into lunar orbit. If you remember, the first Emirati astronaut who went to space was Hazzaa Al Mansouri. Who do you think will follow his steps?

They're in stellar company, rubbing shoulders with space pros from the USA, Japan, Canada, and the European Union.

During the grand announcement at Qasr Al Watan, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said,

"The UAE’s participation in this international project reflects our commitment to promoting partnerships with the world that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and progress for humanity."

His Dubai counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, added,

"A significant mission awaits us in this project that represents a groundbreaking initiative for humanity’s return to the Moon, landing on its surface and establishing it as a base for future missions toward Mars."

This collaboration is more than just a big leap for the UAE; it's a cosmic high-five to friendship and shared dreams. What do you think?
